How to win rounds without chasing every pig

Take the crate, name the weapon you picked up, and stop chasing once the gun is empty or the ledge is closer than the target.

Win the round you are in

Chasing a fleeing pig across the arena is how ammunition and footing disappear. The match is three rounds. Spend the current round getting a usable gun, taking a clean shot, and staying on the map.

Opening checklist

  1. Find a crate before you commit.
  2. See whether an enemy is already on it.
  3. Collect the drop and name the weapon in your head.
  4. Fight only if you can see the target and still reach another crate when the gun runs dry.

If the other side is armed and you are not, change routes. In a team mode, say that you still need a gun so partners do not expect you in the fight.

Play the gun you actually have

Pickup What the guides support
Shotgun Close the distance with cover, then shoot. If they have the shotgun, do not follow them into a tight space
Revolver Faster shots. Misses still spend ammunition
Bow Charge the shot and give yourself room before you release
Crossbow A separate pickup from the rocket crossbow. No damage figure is published
Rocket crossbow Explosive knockback. Stay off ledges when you fight one
Grenade launcher Impact damage. Aim at the pig, not the spot they just left. It is not the rocket crossbow
Minigun or other rapid fire Let go of the trigger when the aim leaves the target
Shield Can break. Keep an exit

Pebble Flinger, paintball gun, flamethrower, and Bug Zapper are also named as crate weapons. No damage, magazine, or range numbers are published for them, so do not build a round around finding one specific name.

Ammunition and reloads

Check what you have left before you follow someone. An empty gun in a chase gives them time to turn around. Break line of sight if you need to reload, then look for the next crate if the weapon is done. In a 3v3, knocking two pigs still leaves a third. Do not spend the last shots on a long chase if that third pig is armed.

Callouts that help

Keep them short: "I need a gun," "shotgun on the right," "that one is low," "reloading." Focus a pig your teammate has already weakened if you have the shot. Do not start a second chase that leaves your partner alone.

Vote for maps whose edges and crate paths you can picture. A grapple that flies past the platform loses the round even when the gunfight was going your way.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you win a match in PIGSHOT?

Win three rounds before the other player or team. A 2-0 lead still needs one more round, and 2-2 makes the next round the decider. Eliminating the opponent takes a 1v1 round. In a team match, the other side has to be eliminated before the round is yours.

Do you start a round with a gun?

No. Rounds can start with you unarmed. Weapon crates drop guns during the fight, and opening a crate does not reserve the weapon for you. Another pig can pick up what falls out.

Where is the code box?

Finish the tutorial first. In the lobby, open Shop at the bottom of the screen, then Codes at the upper right of the Shop window. Paste the code into Enter Code and select Redeem.

What are the PC controls that guides actually list?

Left-click fires, Space jumps, and C slides. Look at a zip line and press Space to get on it. Double jump, flip, and the grappling hook are part of the movement kit, but published guides do not give separate key binds for the hook or the flip.

What do the Robux game passes do?

Published prices are known. What each pass changes in a match is not. Read the purchase description on the Roblox prompt before you buy. Barn Runner is 49 Robux, 2X Speed is 149, Turbo Trotter is 199, Golden Hoof and 2x Bacon are 499 each, and The Arsenal is 4,999.
